Bennett Mitchell will be performing at Knox United in Calgary, Alberta on 31 March, 2023. Mitchell will be accompanied by his bandmates, Cameron Buie on keyboards and organ, Jesse Shire on bass, and Chris Dadge on drums. Opening for Mitchell will be Samantha Savage Smith.
Sled Island called Mitchell, “Like Harry Nilsson or Cat Stevens before him, Bennett Mitchell is a folk singer-songwriter who can skitter around genres and ornate production styles without losing sight of his core — an original voice with a distinct point of view. On this year’s Mouse, his third album, he rambles and reflects atop spare, bouncing instrumentals.”
Mitchell chose Knox United as an immersive space. “Knox compliments the traditional folk and country sound of my latest album Mouse. The church’s old Casavant organ, one of the largest in Western Canada, physically moves the air and the high stone ceilings are great for reverb,” says Mitchell.
